GENERAL CONTRACTOR FIRST FINISH UNDERGOES MAJOR RENOVATIONS

The 20-year-old company moves the location of its main office and rebrands.

Columbia, MD – April 19, 2019 – First Finish is not the same general contracting firm it was upon inception 20 years ago. Having completed projects all over the country and in the Cayman Islands, opening a new office on the West Coast to better manage operations in that region, and undertaking the most complex projects the company has seen to date, it became apparent the office size, location, and design did not adequately reflect that growth, experience, and maturity. For those same reasons, it was determined the company branding also needed to undergo an update. Ultimately, both undertakings were completed in tandem—in true First Finish style.

Still located in Columbia, Maryland, First Finish’s main office can now be found on Old Dobbin Lane. The location was selected based on its proximity to the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area as well as its closer proximity to local clients. The space was designed by the Verve Partnership, an interior architecture and design firm out of Baltimore, Maryland, led by Founder Kelly Ennis. The aesthetic is a mix of rustic and industrial components, using dual-gray tones to provide a more timeless and serene environment. The design also creatively implements textures and materials familiar to the construction industry, with an application that is reflective of First Finish’s maturity. Along with a much-needed technological upgrade for the AV systems, also installed is a modern lighting package that mimics natural lighting. Physically, the space not only better accommodates the growth currently experienced, but also allows for growth to continue comfortably.

The company rebrand saw a complete change to the logo and messaging, touching on all aspects of the company, including a new website, proposals, and application into the new office space. Still the same First Finish, the rebrand allows for a more inspiring, big world picture to projects undertaken by implementing the new tagline, “Think Beyond the Build”; reflective of the firm’s approach to projects of any size. The colors are updated to now include charcoal, while still utilizing the purple and orange palette clients, project team members, and others have come to know. The logo itself shows First Finish’s place in the hospitality industry, with the icon being an “F” created by the building up of a structure.
